The brief and objectives:

The municipality lacked an appropriate and large enough youth center. The teenagers found that the existing center didn’t fit their needs. Tupos wanted to offer right kind of free time center. The planning and design were made in an entirely new way.

To it's own space:

The colors and the rhythm of the building got its inspiration from the vibrant way of life. The space feels like home and it gives one a feeling of belonging. The youngsters were taken along, and they have planned and painted the art piece of the façade by themselves, with the help of the staff.

Through the eyes of the designer:

"Important factors have been the surroundings, the old wooden houses and roads around the center, the view to the pond, and a connection with the natural state pine woods. Our goal was to get the youth to use their center, and that goal was carried out successfully." - Markus Haapsaari
